Poetry Competition Update

 


Dear Families

 

Following today's announcement to remain at level 2, we are still unable to have whānau in our learning spaces. Thank you so much for your support with this.

We are very much looking forward to our homebase competition on Tuesday with a small audience for your child to present their poem to. Certificates will be given to 1st and 2nd place for each year group, as well as the runner ups. 

The finalists will perform their poems to the children in their year group on Thursday at 11:00. Year 3 children will be in the Kererū North 11/12 space and the Year 4 children will be in Kererū 13/14 space. We have independent judges from within the school judging the final. 

Please take time over the weekend to listen to your child recite their poem.

Our first day of Term 2 in K7!

Wow! What a super start to Term 2 learning from home. I have absolutely loved getting all your emails with photos, messages and documents of work. I am so proud of you all as your work really shows me you have put in heaps of effort today. I hope you have enjoyed your first day of learning and are looking forward to tomorrow's activities. Don't forget to try and solve the Daily Quiz challenge. Send me your answer and I will let you know if you are on the right track. Answers will be given out the next day! K10 All Dressed Up In Character For Book Character Day

Wow, I was so impressed when all the children entered our space on Friday morning all dressed up in character for Book Character Day and they had also remembered their book too. Families had certainly gone to a lot of trouble making and organising costumes so that their child had a special day at school. Congratulations to Gracie and Sammie who were our home base finalists. Sammie then went to win the overall costume for middle school and received a couple of books to read at home.
