K10's Best Part Of Me

Image
Last week K10 chose their favourite body part to write about and give reasons why using the word because. They also had to think of effective adjectives to describe their body part and try and use a simile too. The children loved having their photos taken of their body part. Here are a few examples of their writing....   The best part of me is my feet. I like running and playing football because I am fast. I can travel on a plane to go on holidays. I can walk and stand up on my two feet. I like swimming with them too. They are my feet, not yours. They are the best part of me. By Camille My favourite body part is my tongue because if I did not have my tongue I could not spit at my big sister when she is being naughty. If I did not have my tongue I could not lick scrumptious divine lollipops. My tongue is like bumpy chewing gum when I poke out my tongue. I can roll my tongue and make it into a long tunnel. Everyday I am trying to do more tricks with my tongue. Thumbs up tongue! B

The Last of our 'Me Bags' - Kererū 8

What a wonderful way to end our sharing last week!! Olive and Stella had some wonderful treasures, memories and special items that told us a little more about each of them.  I have been so proud of all the children!!  It's not easy talking to an audience, especially when English may not be your first language.  We have certainly enjoyed listening and learning about each other.  Our oral language focus is now going to be about listening to facts and stories, having discussions, forming opinions and sharing thoughts and ideas.
